TV and Burgers

Two Broke Girls is a new CBS comedy on Monday nights following the still brilliant “How I met your Mother”.  When I first heard of this show I was hopeful it would be good, but still a bit leery as I have been fooled by a solid premise before.  I am happy to report that this show has become my favorite new comedy of the fall, narrowly beating out “New Girl” on Fox.  The show, as you would expect, is about two girls and is one of two series this fall from comedian Whitney Cummings.  The girls work together in a dirty looking diner in Brooklyn and also share an apartment with a horse.  Let’s meet the cast: Kat Dennings plays Max, a street smart girl with an attitude and a quick wit.  She has obviously worked at the diner for some time when she meets Caroline, played by the stunningly beautiful Beth Behrs.  Caroline was once a wealthy socialite until her father was convicted in a Bernie Madoff like Ponzi scheme.  She is now pennil...

Surprisingly enough I still have never watched Dancing with the “Stars”.  One would think that with my fondness for scantily clad beautiful women that I would certainly enjoy a show that features that on a weekly basis.  Thus far I have not been allured by their charms.  But nevertheless that will not stop me from breaking down this season’s line up of “stars”.  My definition of a star is wildly different than those of the producers of this show.  Bottom line is that if I would recognize them in public and want to get their autograph or a photo with them then they are a star.  If not?  Well… So what I did was to look up the names only of the participants this fall.  I did not look up any more about them other than their name because a real star should have name recognition.  Thus here is my look at whether or not they have any stars this season.  Ron Artest aka Metta World Peace :  This is a basketball player thoug...

I must preface this by telling you that I like Charlie Sheen and have always enjoyed Two and a Half Men.  The recent rants by Sheen have only made him more of a train wreck.  I find his rants and raves endlessly fascinating and when he joined Twitter I quickly became one of his first followers.  Thus I was both saddened and overjoyed when I heard the news this morning that he was officially fired from the show.  Sad because I like the show just the way it is and happy because I know that this will only lead to better tweets and catch phrases from Sheen.  It was inevitable that he’d be fired as far as I was concerned.  How in the world could he be accepted back and work harmoniously with Chuck Lorre was beyond my comprehension.  The problem is that the show is extremely lucrative and CBS still has a deal in place for a ninth season.  How can they continue a show about two guys and a kid (who technically is no longer a half) without ...
