Subway's Big Hot Pastrami Melt

Image
Subway I know what you are asking yourselves; why in the world is Sir Griffin writing about Subway?  I mean seriously, Subway?  I mean it seems like you are never far from a Subway.  There are two Subways near my place of work.  There are three Subways within an equal distance from my house, just in different directions.  And Subway has always bothered me by hoarding napkins and putting as few onions as possible on my sandwich, but yet I go back.  I beg for more onions.  I plead for more napkins.  Why the hell can’t they have a napkin dispenser up by the sodas?  I can drink as much soda or tea as I can, yet I can only have two lousy napkins.  So why am I writing about Subway?  I will tell you. I have been seeing the ads on TV for the Big Pastrami Melt Sub and I knew that I had to try it.  After all, pastrami is the most sensual of all the salted, cured meats and besides that it is delicious.  After several...

Why the Fuss over Super Bowl Ads?

Image
I cannot stand commercials. I hate them. I hate them so much that I DVR all of my shows just so I can avoid them. So I have a difficult time understanding why people make such a big deal about the commercials that air during the Super Bowl. I want to watch the game. I don’t care about the commercials and I do not care about the halftime show. I just want to see the game. That said I did see some of the ads. This morning I tried my best to remember some of the commercials and you know how many I could actually recall? One. That’s right; out of all the ads I saw last night (other than the movie trailers) I could only recall one and I cannot say with 100% confidence what it was advertising. And I know exactly why I recall the ad and that is because it starred Amy Poehler; a comedian that I am ...

Maxwell the Pig

Image
Good day my friends, Sir Griffin has never much cared for commercials, but when watching live sporting events they are difficult to avoid.  Over the years I have come to despise any all ads from Geico.  That is, until now. I never cared for the cavemen and I can't stand that stupid little lizard, but the first time I saw Maxwell the Pig I laughed hysterically.  Yes, your refined friend Sir Griffin is a fan of Maxwell the Pig.  I can no longer deny it. So I am writing an open letter to the folks at Geico.  Please get rid of the cavemen, the lizard and that stupid talking pile of money and focus all your efforts on Maxwell.  I love Maxwell! Seriously, a pig going wheeeeeeeeeee all the way home?  Brilliant! I must also apologize to all my loyal readers for my absence over the holidays.  I was out of town with Lady Gianna and spent some quality time dining and seeing movies during the dreaded holiday hiatus of many TV shows.  However, I...
