Survivor Nicaragua: Hug me Jeff

Good day my friends,

Last night we had the return of Kelly at tribal council and I was
right, she really does clean up very nicely.  However, she was trumped
by the incredible and revealing dress worn by Alina.  I really think
that Alina was saving this dress up for when Kelly was eliminated.
And oh yeah, NaOnka was there too, but she is so ugly on the inside
that it is difficult to look past that.  But, enough about that for
now, we really need to go back to the beginning.

Is it just me or is Sash getting to look more and more like a skeleton
as the season wears on?  The guy is starting to frighten me as he
looks quite similar to the skeletons in the Pirates of the Caribbean
attraction.  Seriously, have the guy grab the wheel of a pirate ship,
throw in some thunder and lightning and you have Sash the Skeleton.
Well, maybe he’d have to shave off the beard to pull it off, but
still.

As our tribe returned to camp they were so angry about both Kelly and
NaOnka quitting that they named the chicken after the both of them.
Touching in an odd sort of way don’t you think?  More on the chicken
later.  Sash had realized the obvious: that he was the wild card
between two separate alliances.  He said he would play the idol at the
next tribal just to get it out of the way.  I did not believe that in
the least.  As Sash approached Chase to discuss staying in the game
Chase told him that if he won the reward challenge he would take Holly
because she gave up the last reward, but would take Chase second.
Again, I did not believe that to be true.

The reward challenge was a mishmash of a number of other challenges.
As Jeff described it all I could think of was that there was no way
possible that Dan would win.  Dan can only win challenges in which he
is forced to sit in a giant chair.  This was one of those challenges
that started with everyone playing then went down to four and then two
and then the winner.  Dan getting past round one would be a miracle
along the lines of Jesus the Miracle Caterer.  (Those of you familiar
with the comedy of Sam Kinison will hopefully remember that bit)
Ultimately it came down to Benry and Chase and Chase proved
victorious.  Then, as expected, Jeff told him to pick two people to
join him on the rewards.  Holly was selected first, but then Chase
made the boneheaded move of picking Jane.  Sash looked as crushed as
possible for a skeleton and I think Chase knew immediately that he had
made a big mistake.  To leave the wild card back at camp to make a
possible deal with the other three is just dumb.  Not as dumb as being
all muddy and trying to hug Jeff, but dumb nonetheless.

As Chase, Holly and Jane went off and enjoyed some food, a hot shower
and some massages Sash made his appeal to Dan, Fabio and Benry.  For
some odd reason the three of them seemed to be offended that Sash was
offering his services to them.  It was almost as if they were saying
to him that they did not need him if he was going to offer his
services to the highest bidder.  So at this point there was nothing
else to do except eat the chicken.  Eat the chicken?  The gal that may
occasionally give you an egg?  Okay I guess, but Jane will be pissed
when she gets back.

So Jane came back and she was upset.  She cried, buried the bones and
built a little memorial.  Was she planning on taking the chicken home
with her?  No, probably not, but I think she was mostly upset because
she knew the guys had eaten her out of spite and nothing else.

It was time for the reward challenge and this one involved getting
enough rope released from a thing by jumping over, under and around it
(again, zero chance of Dan winning) and then once they had enough rope
the first three to get their bag of gold coins would face off in the
finals.  Fabio, Sash and Benry got their bags first and advanced.  In
the final round they had to stack the gold coins in such a way that
they would fit into a chest and the chest would close around them.
Benry was utterly frustrated and gave up while Sash worked diligently
and Fabio watched what Sash was doing and copied him to the best of
his ability.  Jane revealed that she was a former cheerleader and did
her best to encourage, but I think she only pissed off Fabio and
Benry.  In the end Sash was victorious and had the immunity so no need
to play his idol this week.

Then the reindeer games began as deals were forged and lies were told.
No one could be trusted.  I mean, we already knew that neither Sash
nor Chase could be trusted and we all know that Dan is Benry’s little
puppet and would actually be much better off if he was a marionette.
Somehow, Chase convinced Dan and Benry that everyone would vote for
Fabio and they would tell Fabio that they were all voting for Holly.
Meanwhile, Chase told Sash and the ladies that Benry was the target.
Who would it be?

Off to tribal council where Benry said he was completely confident
which would prove to be quite ironic in a few minutes.  As mentioned
earlier Alina and Kelly looked lovely as did Brenda and I guess Marty
was there although I never really noticed.  I think everyone at this
point is amazed that Dan is somehow still in the game, but I think he
is in only because there is no way anyone would vote for the knee less
wonder at the finals.  Why not have a guy as useless and boring as Dan
sitting next to you in the finals?  You’d be a shoe in.  (Get it?
Holly sunk Dan’s shoes and whoever went against him in the finals…oh
never mind) Ultimately Benry was shocked that he was blindsided and
sent home.  Dan seemed equally as shocked and it was also clear to me
that Fabio was not happy that his two pals had turned on him.  The
final two episodes could be quite interesting.

Next week Jeff promised to execute someone so there is that to look
forward to as well.  They all looked shocked that one of them would be
executed and my hope would be that they choose Dan.  Does anyone
seriously think he could outrun Jeff?

Grab a cup of hot cocoa and keep watching.
