Survivor: South Pacific: That Bastard Brandon makes Edna Cry

Before I get started I want to offer a suggestion for Survivor.  Next summer you need to have Survivor: Hantz vs. Wade where eight members of Brandon’s family battle against eight members of Coach’s family.  This will likely be the greatest season in Survivor history and will be especially exciting to see how they turn on each other.  Much like how Papa Sean Hantz could not believe how poorly his son was playing the game and shocked he was not yet eliminated.  Plus, the way Papa Sean approached Coach to ensure that Brandon would make the final three seemed eerily to the Godfather making him an offer he couldn’t refuse.  Just a thought for you producers out there.

I also am reporting to you now that I have officially decided to discontinue my Survivor recaps after this fall season ends.  Sorry my friends, but I’m just tired of doing it.  If you’re lucky I may treat you to a solo shot if there is a particularly good episode this winter/spring.  And with that hanging over us I am also telling you that today’s recap will be fairly brief, both out of exhaustion and anger.  So let’s hit the highlights:

Cochran snuggled with Ozzy at RI and then just barely lost to him in the RI duel.  He went home with his head held high.

Edna refused to join Brandon’s little prayer group and I cannot blame her.  He has basically treated her like crap and flat out told her that he wanted to get rid of her as she was an outsider.  Would you want to pray with these people?  I think I would have been a little ruder to Brandon and told him how decidedly un-Christian he had been the entire show and told him where to shove his prayers.

Now, I am not exactly sure what Edna expected out there, but let’s keep in mind this is a game and it is a game about deceiving others to win a million bucks.  From the beginning Edna has been a weak player, but making her cry is just not nice.  Brandon’s later apology was incredibly insincere.

Let us also remember that on day one only one person embraced Coach and became his friend and that was Edna.  The rest of his tribe just walked away and were set on voting him out, but Edna stayed with him and trusted him.  Coach ultimately returned this trust by refusing to give her the hidden immunity idol, not going to bat for her with the other players and treating her like crap.  His actions are no better than Brandon’s.  Brandon is unstable and after seeing how he had treated Edna one might have thought Coach had one ounce of compassion and allowed her to stay just one more night and finish above Brandon, but no.  He showed his true colors and proved he is as much of an ass as we had always thought.

We also had another blatant product placement with some sort of Sprint 3D phone, highlighted by Brandon’s over zealous exclamations of “Sprint tree mail”.  Of course, this led to the families visiting.  As the winner of the duel Ozzy was able to choice what three family members would get the visits.   How he could not choose Rick after seeing that fabulous ass grab of his wife I do not know, but he picked Albert, Coach and Brandon.  Again, he also knew that Edna was on the chopping block so why not
give her a treat?  Ozzy is an ass that should have been grabbed by the throat.
Coach won immunity and as we said he refused to share his other idol with Edna.  Edna scrambled and offered to eat Coach’s poop, but it was to no avail.  Props to her for calling out Brandon at TC after he again lied and hid behind Jesus and alleged honor and integrity.

This has been a great season with all the twists and turns, but I really hope someone wakes up and gets rid of Brandon.  The guy is not worthy.  If I had a vote, right now I’m not sure who I would give it to.
